January 22, 2024 (Miami, FL) – Today, esteemed producer and artist, Marshmello, received three nominations for the 2024 Premio Lo Nuestro Awards under the Pop-Urban – Collaboration of the Year, Pop-Urban/ Dance – Song of the Year, and Tropical – Collaboration of the Year categories for global smash hits “Esta Vida” alongside Farruko and “El Merengue” with Manuel Turizo. Nominations were announced today on Despierta America and across Univision’s social media platforms. The award ceremony will be broadcast live from the Kaseya Center in Miami, FL on Thursday, February 22 at 7pm EST on Univision.
Marshmello’s nominations come on the heels of a trailblazing year for the superstar – having released his debut Latin album, ‘Sugar Papi.’ The album showcases Marshmello’s uncanny ability to cross different subgenres in Latin music and produce eleven exceptionally curated tracks, boasting a star-studded lineup which includes: Young Miko, Nicky Jam, Farruko, Anuel AA, Manuel Turizo, Fuerza Regida, Polimá WestCoast, Tiago PZK, ChocQuibTown, Luisa Sonza, Lil Cake, and Brray. ‘Sugar Papi’ is also home to global smash hit “HARLEY QUINN,” which became an instant fan favorite accruing over 252 million streams on Spotify alone, and took over top streaming playlists including Spotify Mexico’s Top 50 list where it has firmly remained at the #1 slot for five consecutive weeks.
Further elevating the Latin-powered ‘Sugar Papi,’ Marshmello brought his power collaboration “El Merengue” alongside Manuel Turizo to life at the 2023 Billboard Latin Music Awards and was dubbed “Crossover Artist of the Year” that same night. Shortly after, Marshmello touched down in Mexico City for a striking set at the 2023 Coca Cola Flow Fest with surprise guests Manuel Turizo and Fuerza Regida’s Jesus Ortiz Paz. Solidifying the hitmaker’s mission to break past cultural barriers and blur the line between genres, Marshmello also received his first ever Latin GRAMMY® nomination for the 24th edition of the award ceremony for “El Merengue.”
Amassing over 68.7 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Marshmello continues to redefine music on his own terms, continuously pushing the boundaries of genre and dropping hits with Latin music’s most distinguished artists. Currently, Marshmello is back in the studio working on new music slated for release this year.
