Movie Reaction: Guy Ritchie's The Covenant

Guy Ritchie. Yes. I am a fan. He makes cool flicks...like this one. 😎

Before I continue - if you decide to watch this movie...I wouldn't watch the trailer.

It shows a lot.

WHAT'S THE MOVIE ABOUT?

Jake Gyllenhaal plays a military dude named, John Kinley. Mr. Kinley's doing his thing in the war of Afghanistan. In order to do his job effectively, he (and other military personal) work with local interpreters. Kinley's team gets a new Afghan interpreter named Ahmed (played by Dar Salim) who is eager to get the job done so he can get passports for his family and move to the US.

One day, while out on patrol - they get ambushed by some serious bad dudes who take Kinley hostage but don't worry - Ahmed gets him back and that's when all hell breaks loose! Yep. Ahmen is forced to hike through enemy lines - in mountainous terrain - with no help from Kinley's (watch the movie and you'll see why.) It's crazy what this dude goes through. Freaking insane.

WHAT DID I THINK OF THE MOVIE?

I thought it was freaking great! Jake Gyllenhaal and Dar Salim's chemistry was dope! Other cast members did great. I recognized some familiar faces like Alexander Ludwig and Jonny Lee Miller

The whole military vibe and story was on point. I really liked the movie. The freaking action was crazzzzzzzzyyyyy!!! The ending - holy smokes!

One thing for sure - the movie got my anxiety going! Mannnn there were some parts that made me say, "Noooo noooo!!!" "Watch it!! Watch it!" "Oh shit. Watch it due."

Yeah - serious anxiety.

I would totally watch this movie again and if you haven't - totally worth the try.

Guy Ritchie's THE COVENANT.

Good stuff.
