After my 9yo and I finished watching SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT the other day...he thought it would only be right...to watch SMOKEY AND THE BANDIT II. Yep. It was going to be a double feature!

I did warn him though. Part 2 is no where as good at the first one. 😎
WHAT'S THE MOVIE ABOUT?
The Bandit (Burt Reynolds) has fallen on bad times. He's lost a lot of money, the fans are kind of mad at him and he's lost his girl Frog. (Sally Field)
Big Enos and Little Enos hire The Snowman (Jerry Reed) and the Bandit to transport an elephant to a Republican convention in Dallas, Texas. Little do Big and Little Enos know....the Bandit's drunk like a skunk and out of shape!! Snowman and with the help of Carrie (Frog), the whip the Bandit back into shape for the high speed job.
Not only are they racing against the clock - but Sheriff Buford T. Justice (Jackie Gleason) is chasing the Bandit once again.
WHAT DID I LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE?
Well, I liked seeing the cast back together. I such a huge fan of the first one.
I really seeing Dom DeLuise in this. He played Doc in the movie.
Another thing I liked about the movie was...the ending crash and derby scene!! the 18-wheelers vs the cop cars. It's the best part of the entire movie. I believe that was my 9yo's favorite part too.
Unfortunately for me - Part 2 didn't capture the same magic as the first one. Part 2 was cool and all but...it was missing a lot of the car chasing and excitement for me. Part 2 felt like it was forcing a love story...in a corny kind of way.
Is it worth watching? Of course it is - it's the Bandit and friends!! 😎
